CCL Workshop Series are coming in November

CCL will hold two series of workshops, PAWs and RAWs, in November as below, to introduce current pipelines and tools to analyze microbial community data. Please register to get necessary materials in advance. See workshop page for details. You had better bring your laptop : )

1- PAWs: Pipeline-based microbial community data Analysis Workshop series

(1) GAP: Galaxy Amplicon sequencing data analysis Pipeline

Time: 4:30-5:30 Nov. 6th Monday

Location: SRTC Board Room

(2) MAP: Microarray (GeoChip) data Analysis Pipeline

Time: 4:30-5:30 Nov. 13th Monday

Location: SRTC Board Room

(3) MENAP: Molecular Ecological Network Analysis Pipeline

Time: 4:30-5:30 Nov. 20th Monday

Location: SRTC Board Room

(4) Beta version of developing pipelines for metagenomic sequencing data analysis

Time: 4:30-5:30 Nov. 27th Monday

Location: SRTC Board Room

 

2- RAWs: R-language-based microbial community data Analysis Workshop series

(1) Diversity indexes

Data input, ID match, richness estimation, taxonomic and phylogenetic alpha/beta diversity indexes, etc.

Time: 4:00-5:30 Nov. 10th Friday

Location: SRTC Core Room (may change, please check this web page)

(2) Dimension reduction and comparison between treatments

DCA, NMDS, PCA, dissimilarity test, dispersion test, ANOVA/PERMANOVA, response ratio, relative difference significance test, effect size, specificity test, etc.

Time: 4:00-5:30 Nov. 17th Friday

Location: SRTC Core Room

(3) Linkage between microbial community structure and environment conditions

Correlation analysis, linear model & HLM, Mantel test, MRM, CCA, RDA, distance-based RDA, VPA, R and P adjustment, etc.

Time: 4:00-5:30 Nov. 24th Friday (will change, due to thanks giving)

Location: SRTC Core Room

(4) Patterns and community assembly mechanisms

Distance/time decay, species area/time relationship, neutral theory model fitting, null model based indexes (such as NRI/NTI, beta NRI/NTI, RC, ST, NST, etc.), quantifying roles of ecological processes, etc.

Time: 4:00-5:30 Dec. 1rd Friday
